This Week...

For this week blog, we were to write about what you were doing in our education courses. Well this week was a busy for me at BC3. For my first class was in Creative Experience. Where you work within a group to complete a art project to teach in a elementary classroom. My group and I, made a CD fish, which the students really enjoyed creating. It was quite a learning experience but that is the whole point of the course. Next, then in that same class, we had went over the basic of powerpoint, and I had already the upper hand due to this Technology Class. In my other education course, Child's Environment we are learning basic things to make our classroom better. We also had to research different agencies that we would like to join someday. My technology class helps in my creative class because I can now use twitter to find ideas for my lesson plans.

A Twitter Find...

As part of my Tech for Ed class. We had to make a Twitter account, after hearing all my friends talking about I knew, I didn't want one. After, signing up for an account, I looked around and discovered its not all that bad. I found some really cool things. One thing I found was The World's First 3D Printing Pen, you can draw things with this pen and it comes alive. I thought this would be awesome for a classroom. Children would like it was so neat, and really pay attention! I myself would love to explore this invention.

Welcome to OUR Class!

Welcome! As part of my Technology for Education class, we had to make a powerpoint of how we would introduce our classrrom to the parents of the students in my class. I learned alot throughout this project. I didn't realize all the different things you could do o google. I got to work with google Drive which was neat. I had no idea that you could do all those things in one place and then upload it to another.

Look What I Read About...

While was I looking through my new reading list, I discovered this blog The Nerdy Teacher, I found it to be very interesting. He has commented on a comment that was left on his blog. The comment was that the teachers are "too busy," to learn new techniques to put in their classrooms. The Nerdy Teacher, say that with all the new learning tools it is impossible to use all the tools. But they can incorporate some new tools in their classroom.
He then proceeds to say all the things he is envolved with and how we still has time to learn new things to incorporte them into the classroom. He states that teachers need to make time to learn new things to better their classrrom and better themseleves in their job. He also says that teachers should never use "not enough time" because it makes the teachers look bad. As a future educator I would not want to be a teacher that uses the old ways of teaching. When other teachers in the building are using new ways to teach.
